How I Can Help
Human Health Advocates (HHA)negotiating medical debt reduction. We review medical invoices, and engage in reconciliation via correction of errors, seeking to enforce patients' rights with hospital and provider billing. We do a great deal of negotiating with medical providers.

HHA also seeks to protect and assert your rights to coverage under insurance policies. In addition to dealing with numerous hospitals, surgeons, and other providers, we carefully review health insurance policies to determine the availability of coverage. When adverse insurance decisions occur, we often seek reconsideration and/or prepare appeals on behalf of our clients.

We also work with probate estates, seeking to reduce claims involving medical debt. This is very helpful in the case of substantial remaining bills after someone passes, and provides an opportunity to challenge and obtain reductions--saving money for the estate and the beneficiaries.

We are strong believers in "preventative planning" --reviewing one's coverage, helping determine where to have scheduled procedures, and negotiating reduced self-pay rates for procedures.

Many times, hospitals and other providers use a collection agency to pursue medical debt.

We also work with uninsured and under-insured patients. We understand that this group of patients has zero protection from the No Surprises Act regarding charges for an unscheduled procedure, and limited protection from No Surprises Act. However, we have conducted dozens of negotiations on behalf of uninsured and under-insured patients, with hospitals and other providers. NOTE* It is typically advantageous to arrange prices before services, if possible. Always request an Estimate. Uninsured patients undergoing a scheduled procedure at a hospital should always request (insist) on a personalized estimate. In fact, this estimate is your primary protection under the No Surprises Act.

We have been in business since 2015, which is "Old" in advocacy years. We can provide what many of our competitors lack--years of experience. We retain our enthusiasm for helping others and look forward to a discussion with you.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
As a former practicing attorney, I had the opportunity to represent clients both against insurance companies, and in one instance, on behalf of an insurance company. Realizing the great gap in knowledge on the part of patients and their families about medical debt and proper utilization of health insurance--and personally being wrongfully over billed for hospital procedures, sent to collections, and resolved for a full write-off, I realized the importance of helping others with medical debt reduction, through analysis, insurance appeals, strategizing, and much negotiating.
My background as a commercial litigator and State-Certified Mediator helped me cultivate effective analytical and negotiating skills. Ten years ago, I formed Human Health Advocates, based in Boca Raton, FL. We have successfully conducted more than 100 hospital negotiations in more than 20 states--and many other provider negotiations on a broader geographical basis. We have helped many patients, and their loved ones resolve medical debt in collections, fight insurance denials, prepare and prevail in insurance appeals.

Human Health Advocates and Kenneth Klein have appeared on affiliates of ABC, CBS, and NBC, and NPR, respectively. I have appeared in in The Sun Sentinel, The Miami Herald, The Kiplinger Report, Becker's Hospital Report, and several other print publications. See our testimonials, Google, and BBB reviews.
